Making “Paz” with Art Box SD

Art Box SD is a public arts committee looking to beautify San Diego one utility box at a time. I was fortunate enough to have painted my first utility box with them in Fall of 2020. Usually evident in the expressions I paint, I decided to be more blatant with the intention I held for this piece and painted the word “Paz,” peace in Spanish. The year had been so chaotic but that day in fall was so beautifully punctuated by the sun. The one thing I had on my mind was peace – peace of mind for everyone and peace of body for those healing.
